Community Connection Center funding levels are set at 3.5% of available Older Americans Act and state General Revenue Funds allocated for Title III-B and Title III-C provider services. For fiscal year 2009, this amounted to $231,760 for the entire eight county service area. Fiscal year 2010 levels are expected to be similar.
Funds are awarded on a regional basis, independent of the County-Share funding formula used by the Agency on Aging. The Agency on Aging anticipates awarding multiple centers on a competitive basis across the region.
The Agency on Aging may further use a portion of County-Share funding levels for Information & Assistance, Outreach, and Congregate Meals to support these services at Community Connection Centers. Centers maximizing cooperative working relationships with Agency on Aging funded providers for these services in the county to provide these services at the center are highly encouraged and will be given preference.
